    Abstract
       

    If you are preparing students to take the B2 First, don't miss this informative and interactive seminar from expert presenter Graham Ward! Many students find the Reading and Use of English the most challenging component of the exam and in this seminar we will examine ways to help them boost their marks and achieve sucess. In addition to analysing the skills needed to deal with each task type, Graham will suggest classroom activities and other teaching tips to motivate learners and build their confidence.

    Graham Ward BA MA has been working as a Cambridge Assessment English teacher in Barcelona since 1997. He is the Head of English at the Fundació Collserola school group and as such is responsible for preparing candidates for all Cambridge Assessment English exams from Young Learners to Proficiency. Graham has worked as a Cambridge Speaking Examiner since 2000, has been a Cambridge Team Leader since 2008.

    Abstract
       

    Nerves can often affect students in Speaking exams but there are a number of measures that teacher can take to help their students face the big day with confidence.  Not least among them is knowing as much as possible about what to expect and what features of speaking can be assesssed.  Whether your students are preparing for in-house speaking tests or official exams, this seminar will help you to help them.  Dan will explore useful classroom activities and approaches that you will be able to implement immediately!

    Dan Shepherd  is a teacher, teacher trainer and academic manager based in Barcelona. He hastaught a huge variety of ages and levels but he most enjoys inspiring young people and getting them interested in learning English. Before going freelance he was the director of studies at a large Barcelona language school and is also a Cambridge English Speaking Examiner, Team Leader and conference presenter at Exams Catalunya.

    Abstract
       

    Young Learners very often sail through the Speaking paper but find the Reading and Writing more difficult. In this Seminar, Sarah Johnston will look at motivating classroom activities that can help to prepare Young Learnes for the tasks on the Reading and Writing paper. It will also be a good chance to review the changes to the Reading and Writing tasks that came into effect in 2018.

    Sarah Johnston  started her teaching career in Barcelona in 1985. She completed her CAP (Certificat d’Aptitud Pedagògica) and then went on to do her RSA (now DELTA). She is the DOS at Big Ben Idiomes Barcelona where she has been working since 1987.

    Sarah is a Speaking Examiner Team Leader for CPE, CAE, FCE, BEC, PET, KET and YLE and has worked with Cambridge Exams for almost 25 years. She has also recently become a WE (writing examiner). She has been teaching exam classes for many, many years to students of all ages and has prepared students for all the Cambridge Exams.
