Webinar for Teachers
Making vocabulary
revision fun and effective!
______________________________________________________
Thursday 22 October - 11:15 – 12:45

Abstract

Revision of vocabulary is a crucial part of every language course - regardless of the length of the course, the age of the students or the nature of the target language. However, it can easily become monotonous and tedious over the length of a course. When it comes to teaching young learners, flashcards provide an endless source of games and activities, but what about adults and teenagers? This workshop is aimed at demonstrating activities that are not only fun, but they also enhance personalisation and long-term retention of vocabulary. Get ready to play! :)

Presenter:
Anita Derecskei
CELTA trainer, Teacher

Having worked for International House, the British Council and Cambridge ESOL in Budapest, Hungary, she has recently moved to Barcelona. As a CELTA trainer and a trainer on various other teaching courses, she is particularly interested in the use of technology in teaching. She worked in the UK for 4 years as an Academic Manager of an international summer camp, so she is also happy to be around kids and teenagers. She believes that learning can and should be fun and in the importance of creativity and personalisation in teaching.
